Brat Tub

1/4 cup olive oil
3 large yellow onions, chopped
2 red bell peppers, chopped
2 yellow bell peppers, chopped
1/4 cup chopped garlic
4 cups beer
1 stick (4 oz) butter
12 oz Saag’s® Classics Bavarian Brats
12 oz Saag’s® Classics Smoked Brats
12 oz Saag’s® Naturals Chicken Brats
12 hot dog buns, lightly toasted
Preheat grill to medium heat. In a heavy bottom pot on medium heat cook onions and peppers in oil until tender, 5 to 10 minutes. Add garlic and continue to cook until caramelized, stirring often to prevent burning. Add beer and butter; simmer 15 minutes. Score sausages about an inch apart on two sides. Grill over medium heat until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes. Transfer brats to beer mixture; keep mixture hot. Using tongs, remove onions and peppers; set aside. Serve brats in lightly toasted buns with onion mixture and other condiments as desire

Makes 12 sandwiches.
