Preheat oven to 400˚F. In a saute pan over medium heat, cook sausage until lightly browned; transfer to a colander and set aside to cool. In medium bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, basil, parsley and salt. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or fork until mixture resemble coarse crumbs. Stir in carrot and sausage. Add milk and egg and stir just until moistened. Drop by 1/4 cup onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until lightly browned, 12 to 14 minutes. Serve warm.
